This two-week window showed a familiar split in the market: Korea’s official chart surfaces skewed heavily toward romance-fantasy and regression on KakaoPage, while Naver’s official real-time signals showed sharper demographic segmentation, with women’s cohorts leaning romance/drama and men’s cohorts leaning action, murim, and game-fantasy. In English, WEBTOON’s Trending chart favored Korean action/fantasy titles with strong momentum, while Tappytoon’s Popular ranking leaned even harder into romance-fantasy and premium serialized manhwa.
Method used for this biweekly ranking
For Korea, I used a multi-platform composite centered on official Korean ranking surfaces available during this period: KakaoPage Webtoon Realtime Top 300, KakaoPage daily webtoon ranking, and Naver Webtoon’s official real-time popularity signals on its home page, including the overall real-time top list and age/gender cohort leaders. I weighted them as follows: 55% KakaoPage realtime, 20% KakaoPage daily, 15% Naver overall real-time, and 10% Naver age/gender cohort breadth. Titles were deduped by canonical Korean title, and adult-only duplicate editions were filtered out of the main list where a standard edition also existed. Because Naver’s publicly crawlable official surfaces expose only limited top lists rather than a full ranked 1–50 ladder, Naver functioned mainly as a cross-check and breadth boost, not a full reorder of every KakaoPage title. I also excluded titles when I could not verify a direct official landing page URL.
For English, I used WEBTOON English Trending as the primary ranking spine and Tappytoon’s official Popular/Trending cluster pages as a secondary signal. Weighting was 70% WEBTOON Trending rank, 20% Tappytoon Popular presence/rank, and 10% cross-platform availability bonus when the same Korean-origin title was visibly strong on both platforms. Filtering removed non-Korean originals, western licensed comics, and duplicate mature/all-ages variants when a single official English title page was sufficient. A limitation here is that Tappytoon’s public crawl exposed the Top 30 Popular page more clearly than the separate Trending page, so Tappytoon influenced the ranking more as a corroborating chart than as a full parallel ladder.
Korea ranking: official multi-platform heat list
Only titles with a directly verifiable official page are ranked below.
- 아기님 캐시로 로판 달린다 (Baby Lady Runs on Cash Through Rom-Fantasy) — Korea: KakaoPage. KakaoPage realtime #1 at the period-end snapshot.
- 악당의 아빠를 꼬셔라 (Seduce the Villain’s Father) — Korea: KakaoPage. KakaoPage realtime #2 and still one of the most durable romance-fantasy library titles on the platform.
- 두 번 사는 랭커 (Second Life Ranker) — Korea: KakaoPage. KakaoPage realtime #3; action-fantasy with long-tail power.
- 이번 생은 가주가 되겠습니다 (I’ll Be the Matriarch in This Life) — Korea: KakaoPage. KakaoPage realtime #4; still one of the clearest signals of ro-fan family/political drama demand.
- 픽 미 업! (Pick Me Up!) — Korea: KakaoPage. KakaoPage realtime #5; game-system fantasy continues to hold.
- 화산귀환 (Return of the Blossoming Blade) — Korea: Naver Webtoon, English: WEBTOON. Naver’s official real-time overall #1, making it the clearest non-Kakao counterweight in the Korean market this period.
- 눈먼 공작과 약혼했다 (I Got Engaged to the Blind Duke / translation) — Korea: KakaoPage. KakaoPage realtime top 10; another sign that gothic/contract-romance remains hot.
- 내 새끼 데뷔시키려다 내가 데뷔하게 생김 (I Tried to Debut My Favorite, Now I Might Debut Myself / translation) — Korea: KakaoPage. Idol/industry fantasy remains competitive amid the rom-fantasy crush.
- 무당기협 (Shaman Warrior / translation) — Korea: KakaoPage. Murim titles are not absent in Korea; they simply trail romance-fantasy on Kakao while staying very visible on male-skewing surfaces.
- 검을 든 꽃 (The Flower with a Sword / translation) — Korea: KakaoPage. Another top-10 Kakao romance-fantasy performer.
- 남편은 됐고, 돈이나 벌렵니다 (Forget the Husband, I’ll Just Make Money / translation) — Korea: KakaoPage. The title itself almost summarizes the market: pragmatic female-lead fantasy is still selling.
- 내가 키운 S급들 (My S-Class Hunters / The S-Classes That I Raised) — English: WEBTOON. Naver overall real-time #2. I’m listing the English official page here because I could verify it directly; Naver’s official home page confirms the Korean title’s real-time strength.
- 외모지상주의 (Lookism) — English: WEBTOON. Naver overall real-time #4 and still one of the biggest evergreen Korean webtoon brands globally.
- 게임 속 바바리안으로 살아남기 (Surviving the Game as a Barbarian) — English: WEBTOON. Naver overall real-time #5, and it also charts strongly in English, which makes it one of the clearest cross-market winners of the fortnight.
- 나노마신 (Nano Machine) — English platform visibility: WEBTOON search/originals context. Naver overall real-time #3; I could verify its English-platform presence more easily than a direct Korean title page in the public crawl, so I am keeping it lower in the composite despite its strong Naver signal.
English ranking: Korean webtoons popular on official English platforms

- I’m the Max-Level Newbie — English: WEBTOON. High Tappytoon Popular visibility and major long-tail action readership.
- Surviving the Game as a Barbarian — English: WEBTOON. WEBTOON Trending top 30 and strong category visibility on WEBTOON’s home/originals pages.

- The S-Class Hunter’s Peaceful Life with Monsters — English: WEBTOON. A fast-rising fantasy/heartwarming hybrid on WEBTOON Trending.

- Life of a Quack Healer — English: WEBTOON. Another fantasy-comedy title holding current trend visibility.
- Aiming for the Alimony — English: WEBTOON. English readers are still rewarding high-concept contract/divorce romance.
- Lout of Count’s Family — English: Tappytoon. One of Tappytoon’s strongest fantasy names on the current Popular page.
- Solo Leveling — English: Tappytoon. Not at the very top of the publicly exposed pages I used, but still too important to ignore as a premium English-market draw and franchise anchor.
What readers were signaling this fortnight
The loudest Korean signal was romance-fantasy concentration on KakaoPage. The realtime top of the chart was stacked with child-rearing aristocrat fantasies, contract relationships, villain-family stories, and status/rebirth narratives. Even when action broke through, it usually did so with regression or game-system packaging rather than straight adventure.
Naver’s official real-time slices showed a more segmented audience. The publicly visible cohort leaders suggest that women’s cohorts were pulling romance/drama/social titles, while men’s cohorts favored murim, action, ranker, and sports/competition-adjacent stories. That does not mean Naver is “less romantic” than KakaoPage; it means Naver’s home page is surfacing a broader demographic split more explicitly.
In English, the two strongest clusters were Korean fantasy-action and Korean romance-fantasy/villainess. WEBTOON Trending favored fast-moving action/fantasy series like The Apothecary Prince, The S-Class Hunter’s Peaceful Life with Monsters, Murim RPG Simulation, and Surviving the Game as a Barbarian, while Tappytoon’s Popular page leaned harder toward romance-fantasy and premium serialized drama such as The Problematic Prince, To My Husband’s Mistress, and The Returned Villainess Vows to Stay Single.
Adaptation buzz, platform changes, and issues
The most concrete platform-side development in this window was less about a single scandal and more about IP flywheel confidence. Kakao Entertainment used April publicity around Perfect Crown to stress the strength of its IP-and-platform ecosystem, while WEBTOON continued emphasizing franchise-building and creator-to-screen pipelines in its corporate messaging. That matters because it reinforces why romance-fantasy and proven franchise genres remain so dominant in current charts: they are easier to extend into drama, OST, and wider entertainment marketing.
On the platform-operations side, Naver’s official surfaces highlighted April paid-transition notices, the 2026 contest/submission pipeline, and creator-facing site changes rather than any newly confirmed public controversy in this two-week span. I did not find a major fresh, officially documented platform controversy during this window that I could verify to the same standard as the rankings above, so I’m not inflating rumor into trend.
Bottom line
Korea remained romance-fantasy first, action-fantasy second, with KakaoPage especially concentrated in female-skewing premium fantasy. Naver’s official real-time signals showed a wider age/gender split and kept heavyweight action brands very visible. In English, the center of gravity stayed with Korean fantasy-action on WEBTOON and premium romance-fantasy on Tappytoon, with a few crossover titles — especially Surviving the Game as a Barbarian and The Ember Knight — showing the healthiest trans-platform momentum.
