She writes about how Acorn goes outside of his parents’ care and into the real world. He meets friends and grows as a person, while the author shows his beautiful life through the colorful illustrations.

Bestselling children’s book author Baek Hee-Na has always surprised us with her magical fantasy children’s books such as Cloud Bread and I Am A Dog.

Her book Magic Candies is about a boy named Ding Dong who feels isolated and left out because he has no friends to play with or even come talk to him. Being unable to play because he does not own any marbles, he buys a round candy that looks like a marble instead when he goes to the convenience store. He puts it in his mouth, and his furniture at home starts to magically talk to him. The round candy begins to talk to him and the boy goes on an adventure. He even starts to magically hear his dad and grandmother’s inner thoughts. He is really happy that he bought the candy that day.

The book has sold 100,000 books in only one year, and the rights were also sold to Japan to be translated. The amazing picture book has received the 2017 Sejong Books by Korean Ministry of Culture award, and also the 2017 Book of the Year of YES24 Bookstore award as well.

The book They Eventually Could Not Go To Bremen is the first illustrated children’s book published by Roo Ree. The book was a 2020 Golden Goblin Award Winner, and has been inspired by the emotional message portrayed by the Bremen Music Band.

The picture book expresses a fun storyline full of wit and sometimes dark and lonesome theme. About musical composition, the book is full of illustrations that are very diverse and sophisticated. Many of the issues that are brought on by the author in the book are real issues that occur in our modern world. The story is about a donkey, dog, cat, and chicken, who have been thrown away by their human owners. The animals have special musical talents and come together and dream about forming a musical band to perform in Bremen.

The book Toast Ghost is a book that has placed weekly 21st under the bestseller’s children book list in the month of November, and top 20 for 1 week in December. The book has also placed top 10 for two weeks straight. The book has 9.9 stars out of 10 on Aladin Korea and is very fun to read for young children.

The story is about a cat who visits a cute little toast ghost as a routine every day at the bakery. The ghost is annoyed by the cat because he makes a mess in the bakery and keeps causing trouble. Since the toast ghost is very clean and organizes all of the bakery products, he is frustrated that the cat keeps visiting to ruin his routine. When the cat disappears one day like the ghost wishes, the ghost feels regret for what he wished and tries to bring the cat back.

The story makes children feel love towards ghosts, instead of feeling scared by them. The comical and friendly toast ghost character that the book introduces allows children to feel sympathy and create a fantastical imagination for them as well.

The book Moon Sherbet is one of the many books on this list that Baek Hee-Na has illustrated and written herself. The book has been translated into many languages, including rights sold to China, Japan, and Taiwan. The picture book can be read by children 4 and older. Baek photographs clay models that she constructs herself to illustrate her books. She creates scenes throughout the book using many characters made out of clay.

In the latest book Dal Sherbet, the creative story is about the main character (a grandmother) making the moon melt into a sherbet during the hot summer months. The neighborhood is thankful to the lady because the hot weather has turned into a cool one. Everyone is amazed and loves that she made the moon into ice cream, and all the people gather to enjoy the delicious and refreshing dessert. However, they must work together to replace the moon in the sky, because the people cannot live without it.

Baek Hee Na not only creates a magical fantasy tale for young readers to enjoy, but she also explores ideas of the environment and global warming by focusing on the importance of the moon to our society.

The book We Will Always Meet Again (100,000 Anniversary Limited Edition) is written by Yun Yeo Rim who wrote from the heart, with illustrator Hello Moon illustrating her thoughts into pictures. The heartwarming children’s book is a story that explores the themes of motherhood and childhood. The story is about a young child going to pre-school for the very first time. Since it is her first time going to pre-school, the child does not want to depart from her mom and begins to cry. Sometime later, the child grows up into a pre-schooler who goes to a school camp on a bus alone. The mom feels bittersweet and lonely because the child has grown up into a brave girl, but waits patiently for her child to come back. She feels solitude but is happy because the mother knows they will always meet again.

Author Hello Moon has written a new book following the first book, Watermelon Pool, in 2015. Because of his adorable and interesting storylines followed by amazing illustrations, children and adult readers love to read his books.

Hello Moon’s latest, Carrot Preschool, is about a cute little rabbit who goes to preschool and meets a strong bear teacher. The story is filled with creative and imaginary characters and dialogues, and helps children who are actually enrolled in preschool. Because preschool is a very different atmosphere from the home and children have a hard time adapting, the story teaches young readers to be ready for school. The Korean words are easy to read for children who are ready to go into pre-school, and the creative and enjoyable pictures make them want to read the story more. The story is written like a creative fairy-tale and helps them become happier and feel special through reading about the Carrot Preschool.

I Am A Dog, also by Baek Hee-Na, is one of the latest in her collection of children’s picture books. Currently, the book is in 29th place under the best children’s list and top 20 in Korea for 4 consecutive weeks. The book has sold 106,110 copies and is sold for children from ages 4-6 years old. The characters were all modeled by the author with clay and each scene in the picture book is a photograph she took herself of those models. The book is considered a prequel to Magic Candies that she previously wrote (and is at the beginning of this list).

The book is about a dog who is born 4th in line to dog mother Marble. Marble’s owners are the owners of a small supermarket, and after the puppy grows older, he is sent to Dong Dong’s home. He misses his siblings, but he loves to be around his new family and owners. The author explores the way that dogs are separated from birth and go to different houses to be loved and taken care of. Her own love for her past dog who she grew up with inspired her to write the story, and she explores the bond between owner and dog in her unique, heartwarming story.

The Long Living Tub Fairy is another book by author Baek Hee-Na, which has placed top 100 for 19 consecutive weeks. In December, the book has placed 15th under children’s picture books. The story has sold 123,042 copies total and received a 9.6 out of 10 stars.

The book is amazing because of its creative storyline about a fairy that appears at a bathhouse called Spa Land, and Baek created the story because of a public bathhouse that she used to visit as a child. The story introduces a grandmother character who is revealed to be a fairy that lost her robe that lets her fly to the heavens. She frequents the bathhouse and the children try to figure out whether or not she really is a fairy. The story is a fantasy book that warms children’s and adult readers alike, while also teaching about the bonds between a young child and an elder.

The book Cloud Bread is famous for being one of the first picture books by author Baek Hee-Na. The book was translated into many different languages, such as France, Japan, Taiwan, Germany, and Norway. The book is very famous for its imaginative storyline about a loaf of cloud bread. One day, a cloud accidentally becomes stuck on a tree branch, and the children gather around and eventually tell one of their mothers. The mother character takes a piece of a cloud and makes bread out of it. They give a piece of the loaf to their dad, and they also decide to eat some themselves. After she and her children eat the bread, they start to float into the sky.

The imaginative and creative storyline makes the children enjoy the book. The author received the fiction illustrator of the year award at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. Her images are very unique and remarkable, as well as all of her other successful children’s books.
