According to News Article Insiders, author Lim Hong Tek explores economic issues that millennials face in South Korea in his non-fiction novel People Born in the 1990s Are Coming. He talks about the presidency of Moon Jae-In, and criticizes McDonald’s and Dyson in South Korea for its monopolistic corruption. Because Dyson tried to incessantly increase the prices in their vacuum products through its monopolistic status in Korea, Dyson stocks decreased almost by 50%. McDonald’s in Korea also tried to increase the product prices with similar results.

Lim Hong Tek is a faceless author who uses his penname. His real name is Lee Mukdol, and he does not want to be shown in the media. His book addresses business and economic issues, but also addresses the generational gap and stereotyping that people face in our modern era. He talks about the working class of the ’90s, and how older generations can manage them efficiently. He also writes about the ways the new generation saves up money to spend it on an extremely expensive pair of sneakers, calling it “flexing.” He believes that current society is extremely developed and advanced, and we find our happiness through mass consumption.
